Last Saturday, in a space of creativity and awareness, a special event took place — “Samhain. Intuitive Painting,” a meeting that combined art, meditation, and deep inner work.
The event was led by Oksana Matsyk — an artist, energy therapist, and consciousness mentor. She combines elements of art therapy, energy practices, and intuitive painting. Her sessions are always more than just a workshop. They are a journey inward, where colors become guides to the inner world. Her approach to creativity is not merely about painting with colors but about finding a sense of wholeness, resourcefulness, and harmony through color, form, and breath.
Samhain is a time of transition and stillness, when light and shadow meet in the same space. It is a symbolic moment to pause, feel the rhythm of your own heart, and look within. That is why the theme of intuitive painting on this day was especially deep — an inner journey through colors toward one’s true Self.
During the meeting, we immersed ourselves in a state of presence — through breathing practice and a short meditation on the light vertical. This meditation helps to feel one’s own grounding, restore inner calm, and find balance between the outer world and one’s inner center.
After that, the creative process began — unique for each participant. Oksana gently guided everyone, helping to release control and trust the movement of the brush. She introduced us to various techniques and styles, showing how color can express the state of the soul, and form — a mood or emotion that cannot always be expressed in words.
Intuitive painting is not about “knowing how to paint.” It’s about being in the flow — about the feeling of the moment when the thoughts of “right or wrong” disappear, and there is space for your true self to emerge.
Each participant’s canvas revealed their own story — a story of calmness, inner strength, and acceptance. The paintings created after meditation became an expression of the light vertical — the energy rising from the depths toward the sky, uniting earth, body, and spirit. For many, this meeting was the first experience of painting without expectations or judgment. As participant Halyna shared, “With you, the fear of the blank sheet disappeared, and my hand began to paint on its own. It was amazing!”
This is the essence of the method — allowing yourself to simply be, without comparison or tension, in harmony with your own sense of color and rhythm.
May this meeting serve as a reminder that creativity is the natural state of the soul, and colors are the language through which our heart speaks.
