I am Oksana Matsyk, a contemporary Ukrainian artist. And this story about my path in art could be started from the end, with the words: "Painting makes me happy!". However, my story is a bit more complicated)
A few words about my path to art...
I started studying painting quite late, in the second year of the veterinary faculty. That's when I realized that veterinary medicine is not my profession. Moreover, at that time I started a real depression. I was desperately looking for my outlet, the meaning of life. And painting helped me get out of depression. At that time, my only friend was teaching painting in kindergarten. Looking at her lessons, the way she worked with the children, I wanted to work the same way. This friend, Lyudmila Fomenko, with whom I first started painting, inspired and supported me to follow the path of creativity. For which I am still sincerely grateful to her.
I thoroughly studied painting at Borys Hrinchenko University. However, before entering the university, I took private courses with the artist Primmakova Anna Konstantinovna . This outstanding person is in the top 100 artists of Ukraine. It was she who prepared me for Academic Drawing and entering the university. So, I can confidently say that the teachers in the hay were the best.
At Borys Hrinchenko University I saw how many like-minded people I have. This university was like a breath of fresh air for me! You walk through its corridors, and around someone is dancing, others are playing, pictures are hanging around. In addition to painting, I really liked ceramics at university. I could stay within its walls for hours, researching, experimenting, creating. I even loved the session, because if you love your work, it turns out that you don't have to make an effort to study - it goes without effort. There and then for the first time I realized what it means to be in my place.
